THIS IS THE HALF-MOON OR CRESCENT SHAPED KEY THAT ALLOWS THE WORKTABLE TO PIVOT DOWN ON A VINTAGE DELTA 6 X 48 BELT SANDER.
THIS ONE IS LASER CUT FROM STAINLESS STEEL PLATE!!
Delta’s early part number for the “Segment Guide” is NJ-229.
This circular key is also used on the vintage Delta 6” short bed and deluxe jointers to adjust the fence.
We have very accurately laser cut this key from Type 304 stainless steel plate & then drilled the two holes in it on a CNC machining center. The stainless steel eliminates the rust and corrosion issues that are present in the pivot area on the older Delta machines.
Our key is also heavier duty than the original Delta key. It is cut from .135” thick plate as compared to the OEM key that is stamped from .120” thick sheet metal.
The edges are square as compared to the rounded edges of the OEM that are created in the stamping process.
The photos in this listing show a comparison of our thicker, heavy duty square cut key and the thinner rust prone Delta key.
Included with each key are two (2) zinc plated carbon steel spring pins to mount the key to the machine.
Our stainless-steel key will greatly improve the ability to adjust the worktable angle on your 6 x 48 sander.
Even if your OEM key is present, take the time to replace it with this more robust better fitting key and see the difference in the ability to adjust the worktable on your sander.
