SHORT CENTER-LOCK KNOB SHAFT FOR EARLY DELTA UNISAW HANDWHEELS
This listing is for one newly manufactured short shaft for the center locking knob on the tilt or elevation handwheel of a compatible early Delta Unisaw.
IMPORTANT:
- This listing includes one short shaft only.
- The long shaft and all knobs shown in the photos are for comparison and reference only.
- The long shaft, knobs, handwheels, wedge-lock components, and all other parts are not included.
This short shaft is designed for the early wedge-lock system. When the center handwheel knob is tightened, the shaft presses against a slotted pin, forcing two steel wedges outward against the shaft bore to lock the tilt or elevation mechanism in position.
These short shafts and their associated locking components are frequently missing or damaged during the rebuilding of an early Unisaw.
INCLUDED:
- One short center-lock knob shaft
- One small vial of Loctite retaining compound
The shaft is designed for a light press fit into the original knob. If your existing knob fits loosely on the new shaft, the included Loctite retaining compound can be used to secure the connection.
COMPATIBILITY:
This shaft is intended for compatible early Delta Unisaw's equipped with the wedge-style tilt and elevation locking system. It is not intended for later Unisaw's that use the brass-bullet locking system.
