Delta Upper Bearing Drive Collar
Full Description
This listing is for one replacement upper bearing drive collar, Delta part number DP-250. This special, hard-to-find tanged collar secures the upper quill bearing in vintage Delta 14" drill presses, including the DP-220.
Our drive collar is CNC-machined from C1018 carbon steel and is dimensionally identical to the original Delta DP-250. It includes a stainless steel 5/16-18 set screw.
The collars shown in the photos are pictured as machined, before finishing. All collars will be black oxide coated for improved corrosion protection and appearance.
IMPORTANT INSTALLATION INFORMATION
To rebuild a vintage Delta DP-220 drill press quill, you will need:
- One pair of quill bearings
- Two DP-242 spanner nuts
- One DP-250 upper bearing drive collar
The lower quill bearing must be properly engaged with the tangs in the lower collar located just above the chuck.
The DP-250 drive collar must be installed above the upper quill bearing. Its two tangs must engage the two slots in the center race of the upper bearing. The collar also prevents the spindle shaft from sliding out through the bottom of the quill.
These special bearings feature a notched inner sleeve that locks the bearing’s inner race to the rotating drill press spindle. Proper engagement of the tangs and notches ensures that the inner bearing race rotates with the spindle shaft.
