Delta Unisaw Fence Locking Knob

This is a brand new, much improved, finger knob for the tightening the rear clamp on your vintage UNISAW fence.
This is an easy-to-install replacement knob for tightening the rear clamp's J-hook found on the early style Delta Unisaw fences. The early fence, as shown in the photos, required the operator to finger tighten the upper knob at the fence casting separately from the lever actuated front clamp. Later fences, called "Jet-lock" fences, do not have this finger knob, and required only the ball-ended lever be depressed to lock both the front and rear of the fence lever and ball.
The small diameter of the stock finger knob and its very fine fluting making it somewhat difficult to pinch and turn to tighten the rear clamp. Since most of the OEM knobs have been pinched and turned since probably the 1940's and 1950's, many have become worn to the point that the fluting is mostly smooth, making them even tougher to grip and turn.
Our new deeply fluted, comfortable-to-grip, easy to tighten, aluminum replacement knob is shown installed on a Unisaw fence and separately in several of the photos.
This attractive 13/16" diameter knob has been CNC machined from billet aluminum bar, with nine (9) deep radiused flutes equally spaced around its perimeter. These flutes allow the operator to easily grip and tighten the knob. Even though the knob is larger than the original Delta knob, it still is narrower than the actual fence itself and does not interfere with a piece of wood sliding along the fence.
The knob is threaded 1/4"- 20 to match the fence's internal pull rod.
A stainless-steel flat washer is included when we ship this knob. The washer should be placed between the fence and the knob to reduce friction at the interface surface.
