Wood Rear Blade Guard Brackets for Vintage Delta 14″ Bandsaws
Replaces Delta Part Number LBS-179
This listing is for one pair of reproduction mounting brackets used to secure the wooden guard on the return side of the blade on early Delta 14″ bandsaws.
Early Delta 14″ bandsaws used a wooden rear blade guard secured to the upper and lower wheel-cover studs with two U-shaped sheet-metal brackets. The brackets were attached to the wooden guard with wood screws.
Later bandsaws—primarily machines equipped with the 15/16″ round guidepost—used a molded plastic rear blade guard. That guard had a loop at each end that fit over the same upper and lower studs.
Important: These brackets will not fit bandsaws equipped with hinged wheel covers.
Riser-Kit Applications
Most bandsaw riser kits include an extended wooden rear blade guard like the early Delta design but approximately 6″ longer.
- If you are replacing an existing wooden guard, you may be able to reuse your original brackets.
- If your bandsaw currently has the molded plastic guard, you will need OEM brackets or this reproduction bracket set to install the longer wooden guard supplied with most riser kits.
Reproduction Bracket Details
Our reproduction brackets are formed from 16-gauge aluminum sheet and include the wood screws required for installation.
Each bracket has four mounting holes. Delta originally installed screws only through the two inside holes—opposite the blade opening—where the wood is thicker and provides better screw engagement.
