BRACKETS FOR THE WOOD GUARD ON THE RETURN SIDE OF THE BLADE FOR A DELTA 14” BAND SAW

The guard for the return side of the band saw blade was made of wood on the earlier Delta 14” band saws. The guard was secured to the top and bottom studs that hold the wheel covers on with two stamped sheet metal u-shaped brackets. These brackets were secured to the wood guard with wood screws.
Later band saws, mostly with the 15/16” round post, had a molded plastic rear blade guard. This plastic guard had a loop in each end that fit over these same two studs.
These brackets will not work on band saws that have hinged wheel covers.
When you add a riser kit to your band saw, the kits usually come with a wood guard similar to the early Delta version but are about 6” longer. If you are replacing a wood guard, you can reuse the brackets. If you are replacing a molded plastic guard with the long wood version that comes in most riser kits, you will need to find a set of OEM brackets or buy the reproduction set offered in this listing.
Our reproduction brackets are formed from 16 ga aluminum sheet and come with wood screws for installation. The brackets each have four screw holes, but Delta only put screws in the two inside holes, opposite the opening for the blade, where the wood on the guard is thicker.
