NEW DELTA 882 WORK LIGHT

KNOWN IN THE INDUSTRY AS A “RETIREMENT” LIGHT 

Apparently, it got the nickname “retirement” light, because people have said that if they had known what they sell for now ..… they could have bought enough of them “back-in-the-day” to be retired by now. 

These lights have been getting harder and harder to find, so we decided to reproduce the popular little work light, as an even better product than the original Delta light.  Original Delta work lights were cast from a pewter-type metal and would become tarnished over time. The OEM linkage was zinc plated carbon steel and eventually would corrode.  The light socket, switch, and cord on the original lights did not survive the 50-70 years of service expected of these neat little accessory lights that were originally offered in the 1940-1950 era.  

Our #882 work light incorporates an investment cast fully polished stainless-steel shade, new polished stainless steel adjustable mounting linkage, a new polished nickel-plated lamp socket, and a chrome knob twist-to-activate switch.

 The lamp shade is an exact duplicate of the Delta shade, complete with mounting boss, setscrew hole at the socket entrance, and the 12 vent holes around the top of the shade.

The lamp is polished to a mirror-like finish! 

The lamp socket is all new and screws into the shade the same as the original Delta lamp socket.  The socket is stamped with both UL and CSA approval. 

The nylon insert lock nuts and button head cap screws in the linkage are 18-8 stainless steel. The set screw at the socket hole is also 18-8 stainless steel. The spacer at the center of the linkage is also polished stainless steel. 

There are twenty (20) parts that make up an assembled light. 

The complete 115V lamp is provided with an installed 34” length piece of type SJOOW 18/2 black power cord.  The cord length is suitable for installation on a Delta drill press where it connects inside the motor junction box, and on a Delta band saw or scroll saw where the connection is to be made in the upper support arm casting of the machine.

Longer cord lengths are available by special request for $1.50 per foot. 

The work light can be retrofitted to other types of Delta machines and other brands of machines by installing a bolt on bracket that Delta sold as part number S-6.  We are now offering that reproduction Delta bolt-on mounting bracket to be used on machines that do not have an OEM cast-in-place mounting boss. 

The S-6 universal bracket is sold separately.
