SPANNER NUT FOR RETAINING THE FIXED BEARING IN A UNISAW ARBOR CASTING.
This is what Delta called the bearing closure nut. It retains the outside bearing into the arbor casting on a vintage Delta Unisaw.
Our replacement spanner nut has been CNC machined on state-of-the-art equipment from C1018 carbon steel.
(Most of the replacements available from parts houses across the country are die cast zinc nuts, and not equal to the steel replacement nuts we manufacture.)
The wrench grooves in each were then precision ground across the centerline of the part. The nominal outside diameter of this part is 1 5/8”.
Each nut has been quality control checked for dimensions and tested by threading it into a stock Delta arbor casting.
