This includes the knob, shaft and cam for the Unisaw and shaper dust door.
The shaft is machined for connecting the locking cam and knob on your vintage Unisaw or Shaper dust door.
The shaft is designed for a light press-fit into the knob. However, each order has a small container of Loctite retaining compound to securely attach the new shaft and knob.
The knob is 1 5/8” diameter knob and CNC machined from billet aluminum bar, with fourteen (14) deeply radiused flutes equally spaced around its perimeter. These flutes allow the operator to easily grip and turn the knob.
These knobs are installed with a light press fit on the shaft as the OEM knobs did. We have provided a hidden air bleed relief in the bore to facilitate the press fit of the shaft into the knob
Our replacement cam is CNC machined from 6061 billet aluminum bar and is better than the OEM part that was die cast and zinc plated.
The cam is designed for a slip fit onto the dust door shaft. We have moved the set screw retaining hole to the opposite side of the cam where there is more material present for the threaded hole. The set screw securely holds the cam onto the shaft when tightened against the flat on the shaft, eliminating the need for the OEM style “D-shaped hole.
The cam is provided complete with a 5/16 stainless steel set screw in place.
