Full Description

JACK SCREW FOR ADJUSTING THE KNIVES ON A VINTAGE DELTA 13" PLANER

This is an all-new 3/8-24 special-head adjusting bolt used to raise and lower the knives in the cutterhead of a vintage Delta 13" planer. These adjusting bolts are commonly called “jack screws.”

IMPORTANT COMPATIBILITY INFORMATION

Not every Delta 13" planer used this style of adjusting screw. Some Delta 22-101 planers were equipped with knives that had a notch in each end. That notch fits over the thin machined section of the bolt head, allowing the screw to raise or lower each end of the knife. This makes it possible to properly align the knife and set it to the correct height.

Please examine your planer knives and compare them with the photos before ordering.

The original adjusting screw was Delta part number PLR-115. The original screws had slotted heads that were frequently damaged or lost.

Our replacement screws are CNC-machined from alloy-steel socket-head cap screws. The head is carefully machined to reproduce the thin section required to engage the notch in the planer knife. The original screwdriver-slot design has also been upgraded to a stronger and easier-to-use internal hex-drive design.
