DELTA UNISAW LOCKING WEDGE KIT
Full Description
New “steel wedges, slotted pin, and spring” for the locking mechanism on your vintage Unisaw tilt and elevation shafts.
Original “wedge locks” are often missing when rebuilding an early Delta Unisaw. The wedge lock system was used on the early Unisaw from the late 1930’s until about 1948 when Delta converted the locking system to brass bullets.
Without the locks in place, the tilt and elevation mechanisms will not effectively lock the shafts in position when the knob in the center of the hand wheel is tightened.
Each shaft requires one set of the wedges, slotted pin, and spring to complete an assembled lock. These parts are compressed behind the center knob and short shaft in the center of each handwheel. The knob and shaft are not included in the listing.
Our wedges are laser cut from 4130 alloy steel plate. The slots are precision machined in the pin to match. Each set of wedges is then fit and tested with a mating pin to insure free movement of the wedges within the slot. The spring is all new, slightly longer, and with a bit less pressure than the original Delta spring, providing for a more forgiving wedge lock system.
The pins have been black oxide plated for increased s corrosion protection.
Installing a wedge lock kit in the blind hole of a vintage Unisaw shaft is a bit tricky. To facilitate an easier installation, we add a slot to the back end of the pin. With a screw driver blade in this slot, pressure can be applied to compress the spring, while allowing you to rotate the pin as required to align the wedges with the slots.
Shipping to anywhere in the lower 48 states is $4.50.
Other locations may have to pay an additional fee.
Payment by PayPal is preferred.
This listing is for one (1) set of wedges, one (1) slotted pin, and one (1) spring. To do a complete saw restoration, you must buy two sets.

Reviews From the Shop Floor
I'm restoring an old Delta drill press and the original work light was missing the actual socket, switch, and cord. What I purchased is a great direct replacement and it seems quite high quality. I would recommend this seller to procure parts to restore your old machines. Worth the money. Good job!
