Full Description

UPPER BEARING DRIVE COLLAR REPLACES PART #DP-250

FOR SECURING THE QUILL BEARINGS IN A DELTA 14” DRILL PRESS

SPECIAL HARD-TO-FIND TANGED DRIVE COLLAR

The drive collar is CNC machined from C-1018 carbon steel.  It is dimensionally identical to the original Delta part number DP-250.  It comes complete with a stainless steel 5/16-18 set screw.

The collars in the photo are as machined, before being black oxide plated.  The collars will all be black oxide plated for increased corrosion protection and for appearance.

To rebuild a vintage Delta DP-220 drill press quill, you will need one pair of quill bearings, two spanner nuts, and one upper bearing drive collar.

It is important that the lower quill bearing be engaged in the tangs in the lower collar just above the chuck.

It is just as important that a bearing drive collar be installed above the upper quill bearing.  This part is #DP-250 and has two tangs that must engage the two slots in the center race of the upper bearing. The DP-250 collar also prevents the spindle shaft from sliding out the bottom of the quill.

These special bearings with the notched internal sleeve lock the inner race of the bearing to the rotating spindle of the drill press.  The notches ensure that the inner race of the bearing spins with the spindle shaft.

This listing is for one upper bearing drive collar original part #DP-250.
