Replacement threaded shaft for the center lock knobs on the UNISAW handwheels.
THIS LISTING IS FOR ONE SHORT SHAFT ONLY. THE LONG SHAFT AND KNOBS ARE FOR ILLISTRATION ONLY!
This is a “new” machined shaft, for the early style “wedge” lock system behind the center knob at either the tilt or elevate handwheel on your vintage Unisaw.
The “wedge” lock system requires a short stubby shaft which pushes on a slotted pin driving two steel wedges out into the bore to secure the handwheel from drifting.
These components are often found to be missing or damaged during a rebuild of a vintage Unisaw.
The price listed is for one shaft. The knobs shown in the photos are for reference only and are not included with the shaft purchased from this site.
The shafts are designed for a light press-fit into the knob. However, each shaft order is provided with a small vial of Loctite retaining compound, should you find that your existing old knob fits too loosely on the new shaft.
We do have new billet aluminum style knobs available as shown in the photos. We also have a matching “finger” knob available for the early style Unisaw fence. Please check these other products in our store.
